Learn about the principles of dry stone walling before getting to work building your own section of wall in a stunning lakeside setting. Learn how to select the right stones and build a strong wall from base up, including packing and finishing.
Most of the day will be spent outside so please dress appropriately, including:
– Waterproof boots or wellies, steel toe caps are recommended but not compulsory.
– Heavy weight gardening gloves to protect your hands.
– Weather-proof clothes which you don’t mind getting wet or dirty.
There will be a break in the middle of the day for lunch and the course will finish with coffee/tea and cake in The Purple Turtle cafe. Lunch, a hot drink and cake is included in the course price. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
Partners are welcome to observe and enjoy the beautiful lakeside setting.
Dry Stone Walling is physically demanding and not suitable if you are pregnant or have back problems.
All tools and equipment will be provided.
