about the event
Mindfulness is a therapy that helps us to manage stress and worry, and cultivate qualities such as kindness and calmness. This taster session will help you to see whether mindfulness is an approach that suits you.
In this session we will practice some sitting and walking meditations, talk about how mindfulness helps us sleep better and come away with some pointers of where to go next.  The session will be run by Bee Watkinson of TMLA Ltd who is a qualified mindfulness teacher, has an MSc in Psychology from Exeter and who follows the mindfulness teacher’s good practice guide.
If the weather permits we will use the outdoor space as well as indoors for some gentle movement. No special clothes are required - dress for comfort and warmth.
Mindfulness is part of the NHS NICE guidelines, and so if you are currently being treated  for any mental health condition, you should check first with your doctor whether mindfulness fits with your treatment plan.
We will start the 2 hour session with coffee/tea and cake (included in the ticket price) at 2pm on 2nd December.
