We’re looking for an assistant to help run our on-site shop/cafe, The Purple Turtle.

 

Do you have a passion for food, coffee and the outdoors? If so, The Purple Turtle at Litton Lakes is the place for you. You'll be the face of Litton Lakes, greeting visitors when they arrive, preparing quality food and drink and delivering excellent service.

 

This is a seasonal position from 20th May to 2nd October.

cafe/shop/check-in assistant

 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 

Opening and closing the cafe

Making fresh coffee and other hot/cold drinks

Preparing food and basic meals

Checking-in campsite guests

General cleaning duties

Monitoring stock levels

Placing orders with suppliers

 

The role involves a large element of logistical planning due to not having electricity on site. The applicant will be required to go off-site to collect and return stock from fridge/freezers at the beginning, end and possibly during shifts.

 

Working Hours

5 days per week (Thu to Mon)

Sat - 9.30am-5.15pm (7hrs 45mins)

Sun/Mon/Thu/Fri - 9.30am-3.15pm (5hrs 45mins x4)

Total: 31.5 hours

You will be required to work weekends and bank holidays and have full availability for all school holidays dates.

 

Essential requirements:

18 years of age or older

A full uk driving license and a car

Excellent time keeping skills - the applicant will be responsible for opening the cafe in the morning, so punctuality is a must

Confidence to work alone

Experience of working in busy customer facing environment

Experience of working in a cafe/restaurant/fast food or similar

A passion for delivering first class customer service, consistently, no matter the day or the weather

Ability to ‘think on your feet’ and stay calm under pressure

Ability to multitask

Desirable but not essential:

Experience in preparing meals - previous catering experience

Experience operating a generator

Knowledge of the local area

Level 2 Hygiene certificate

 

Pay:

£9.50-£10.50 per hour DOE
